A Sustainable Design Strategy Based on Building Morphology to Improve the Microclimate of University Campuses in Cold Regions of China Using an Optimization Algorithm

The microclimate affects the quality and efficiency of outdoor spaces campuses, especially in cold regions China. In this paper, we propose a multiobjective optimization method to improve thermal comfort environment university campuses severe regions. We used morphology data from 41 universities region China create layout prototype campus cluster. Multiobjective was used, effects sunlight, solar radiation, wind on winter were considered. A parameterized platform established for simplified model campus. based an evolutionary algorithm obtain 108 groups nondominated solutions. optimum obtained at building density 0.21–0.23, plot ratio 1.51–1.88, road width 11–14 m. recommend that buildings are designed direction space between is increased.
